2011 They will be missed!

The final curtain call came ...

they bowed their final bow.

Two folks who passed on in 2011 I will greatly miss:

Jack LaLanne

September 26, 1914 – January 23, 2011
Aka: Francois Henri LaLanne, the godfather of fitness, the first fitness superhero

I used to watch his exercise shows as a kid living in the San Francisco Bay Area and corresponded a bit with him in Moro Bay shortly before his death. His wife is of Norwegian ancestry.

And...

Peter Falk

September 16, 1927 – June 23, 2011
Aka: Peter Michael Falk, Lieutenant Columbo, Sam Diamond, Max, etc.

We studied "The Columbo" style of investigation at the Correctional Peace Officer's Academy back in 1983 - I've personally used that approach and it works just fine, especially with the intelligencia members so often found in prison systems around the globe.

R.I.P

and

Thanks!

The 27 Club

Have you heard of the 27 Club?

Biographer Charles R. Cross wrote, "The number of musicians who died at 27 is truly remarkable by any standard. humans die regularly at all ages, there is a statistical spike for musicians who die at 27."

and ...

"This is not a club that most would want to join, since the price of admission includes both fame and premature death. In truth, it's not a club at all but a name for a grouping of obituaries. It refers to the surprising number of famous musicians who have passed away at the untimely age of 27."

Do you believe it is coincidence, or are these deaths only tied to those final years of failing youth when one sees the door of the 30's on the horizon?

Or, do you have another idea ...
